Yoga Practice and Buddhist Thought
The Buddha Was a Yogi! Buddhist Yoga and Ashtanga Meditation In Practice
January 7 - 14, 2012
with John R. B. Campbell, Ph.D.
About the Retreat
Join scholar-practitioner John Campbell -- Certified Ashtanga Teacher and scholar of Tibetan Buddhism -- for a week of Ashtanga Yoga practice and Buddha Dharma instruction.
Through daily lectures, meditation instruction and Ashtanga Yoga practice, students learn to experience their yoga practice as the practical means of liberating the ordinary body-mind complex from the "inner enemies" of ego-centric ignorance, and the extraordinary means of cultivating a Vajra Body, the compassionate embodiment of one's perfect knowledge of the ultimate ground reality.
An ideal environment for the experienced yoga enthusiast who wants to deepen their practice, it is equally suited to the total beginner who wants a powerful, practical introduction to these ancient methods of liberating the ordinary body-mind complex from egocentric suffering.
This course is open to all levels of students.
About the Teacher
John Campbell lives in New York City with his wife and their children and a few pets. He began practicing Ashtanga Yoga nearly 20 years ago under the guidance of the South Indian master, Shri K.
