We are so pleased to host Richard at Yoga Thailand. We have known Richard for many years now and have studied with him on his workshops around the world and in Boulder whenever possible. We can't say enough how much we enjoy his style of teaching, spirit and sense of humour.
This will be a unique experience to spend a week in a close and personal environment with one of the most advanced, sincere and true yogis that either the west or east has produced. Richard has a speciality in Ashtanga Yoga but his knowledge and experience reaches quite deep and so can help you to explore and understand your own practice and self at a much more intimate level. We love him and are delighted he can make it here. So join us.
Richard Freeman has been a student of yoga since 1968. He has spent nearly nine years in Asia studying various traditions which he incorporates into the Ashtanga yoga practice taught by his principal teacher, K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. His background includes Zen and Vipassana Buddhist practice, Bhakti and traditional Hatha Yoga in India, Sufism in Iran and, starting in 1974, an in-depth study of Iyengar Yoga. He is still an avid student of both Western and Eastern philosophy, as well as Sanskrit. His ability to juxtapose various viewpoints, without losing the depth and integrity of each, has helped Richard develop a unique, metaphorical teaching style. He lives with his family in Boulder, Colorado where he is the director of the Yoga Workshop. For more details on Richard and his studio, please visit www.yogaworkshop.com
