Yoga Retreats

A Transformative Week of Yoga

February 11 - 18, 2012

with Simon Low and Jeff Phenix

About the Retreat

Simon and Jeff, two of the UK's most popular teachers, worked together for two years at Triyoga in London, until Simon moved on to set up The Yoga Academy. They have remained close friends and share similar attitudes and approaches to yoga & life, and have discussed leading a yoga retreat together for many years. Finally their timetables have conspired to at last make this possible.

This wonder-filled week will offer two classes daily, with Jeff and Simon alternating the teaching, with additional assistant teachers for every class. Jeff and Simon are opening this week to all who wish to come for a fun and transformative yoga holiday at this fabulous location on beautiful Koh Samui. Come and deepen your practice and understanding of yoga over this special week. Children are welcome as Jeff and his wife Jennie will be coming with their two children too!

About the Teachers

Simon Low

Simon Low Simon is one of Europe's most popular yoga teachers. He was the original Director and a co-founder of London's Triyoga, where he still teaches regular workshops and courses. As Principal of The Yoga Academy, one of the UK's leading teacher training schools, Simon leads intensive teacher trainings in the UK and overseas while also running yoga weekends, workshops and holidays at home and abroad throughout the year. Originally training as a teacher in the USA with Dr Larry Payne over 20 years ago, Simon is now one of the UK's most respected teachers, his teachings being informed by his wide experience and study of many approaches to Hatha and Classical Yoga, centered-movement and physical therapy. Simon's primary teacher lives within himself, a relationship he continues to cultivate with the help and guidance of his teachers and practice, while inspiring others to cultivate this relationship within themselves and their own yoga practices. Simon's classes are diverse, focused and fun, balancing linear, fluid and restorative asana work, pranayama, philosophy, applied anatomy, and principles of chinese medicine and energy work, leading toward balanced, effective, accessible 'yin and yang' yoga.

Jeff Phenix

Jeff Phenix Jeff is British Wheel of Yoga accredited and 500 hour Yoga Alliance certified. He also trains yoga students to become yoga teachers on Triyoga's teacher training programme.

Jeff teaches both internationally and locally at both of London's leading yoga centres - Triyoga and The Life Centre.

Jeff is inspiring and popular as a teacher because of his passion and unique style which emphasizes the true spirit of yoga. Strong but soft, dynamic yet meditative - a seriously playful emphasis on right and skilful action helps to bring inner peace, balance and harmony. He enjoys being creative and experimental with his classes working with a variety of themes, ideas, different sequences and a range of postures to help students deepen their practice and understanding. Emphasizing a meditative mind and the connection to Spirit teaches us to be present, not on 'automatic pilot', so that we can practice being as fully alive as possible in each moment in everyday life - not just on the mat.

Yoga and meditation have been a constant part of his life for the past 15 years. His teaching style reflects a variety of influences by incorporating the emphasis on breath and movement of Vinyasa flow, the precision and safe alignment of Iyengar, the heart orientated grace of Anusara, the individualized aspect of Viniyoga and the traditional philosophy and spirituality of the Jivamukti and Satyananda styles.
