Yoga Retreats
Yoga and Sound
October 27 - November 3, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
Is there a meeting point between sound and silence? This retreat will explore sound -- the music of the breath, chanting and mantra -- as well as the void that is created in the absence of sound.
Through some theory and plenty of actual practice, we will discover how mindful practice in the form of breathwork, pranayama, mantra and asana lead to mental stillness and overall healing. We will find out how our practice can help guide us towards pratyahara, to the withdrawal of the senses, and how our entire practice is designed to eventually amplify a deeply absorbing, inner sound that is beyond the senses.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, mantra repetition and asana practice -- developing a self-practice of breathwork - pranayama and asana. In the afternoon there will be discussions/workshops and restorative asana classes. Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional satsang and other activities.

Testimonials
I will definitely recommend Samahita Retreat to all my family and friends. The programs are good and according to the health issues of each person. I love the breathing and yoga classes as it improves my posture and my overall health along with the programs that I've chosen (detox program). All the staff are very well mannered, love talking and laughing with their guests, although communicating in English, they are happy dedicated, caring and give excellent service. So, more power to all and keep the good excellent work!!! Thank you very much, me and my family will be back.
