Yoga: The Joy of Practice
September 15 - 22, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

This is a center to be visited by professionals at least once a year. We became active both physically and mentally. Change of food brings new energy to life.
Yoga is a wonderful program to keep us alert during the day and strengthen our muscles. Good friendly staff and teachers taking care of guests.

I had an absolutely amazing time at Samahita Retreat. I didn't know what to expect beforehand but it certainly was what I hoped for and more. I will definitely be back.

We did a 7-day detox last year and I found it very hard. Claudia said the results come afterwards, but I was skeptical. She was right and the weeks after detox I lost weight and felt really well. We've changed our eating habits alot in the last year and during this detox I've noticed a real difference - I feel well, have more energy, and I enjoyed the detox. Claudia's tips have been truely life changing for me. I now practice Yoga regularly and eat more healthily.

Claudia Tang and Rachel and the wonderful bevy of therapists have been wonderful in supporting me in the detox journey. They have created a balanced haven of nourishing Therapies and a supportive diet regimen to support my needs as a Yoga practitioner. The week was a great opportunity to 'reboot' the system after years of poor dietary and lifestyle habits. Thank you!
