Yoga: The Joy of Practice
September 15 - 22, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.
Please join us!
About the Teacher
Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.
In 2006, Elonne moved to Asia, where she met her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, O.P. Tiwari, and Richard Freeman.
As Elonne's understanding of the practice grows, she feels more and more like a beginner, and she is excited to continue this journey. She feels blessed by the opportunity to teach at Samahita Retreat, and she is extremely grateful for the chance to help others while she continues her own studies. For more see her full bio.

The beautiful setting, the tranquil and inspiring atmosphere, the very kind and attentive staff, the skilled therapists and the amazing food I couldn't eat! Thank you for making me respect and want to care for my body and mind and thank you for bringing Yoga back into my life. I'm smiling from the inside and will soon be back. Thank you
I feel blessed to have discovered Samahita Retreat and privileged to have spent time with the wonderful teachers here! They have created the most beautiful space where I just love to come and unwind, reflect, cleanse and deepen my yoga practice. This is my second time at Samahita and I look forward to returning year after year to continue to grow, relax and be nurtured in this amazing and unique environment. Thank you so much!

Temai, Lea and I would sincerely like to thank you all for the glorious time and learning experience you provided for us at Samahita Yoga Thailand.
We have arrived safely (and recovered quite successfully from jetlag) and look forward to continue all practices.
Temai misses all his recent friends and addictive environment but you know Temai he is back to his eating routine like expected :)
We enjoyed our time immensely and home to see you all soon!
Kind regards and best wishes,
