Yoga: The Joy of Practice
September 15 - 22, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.
Please join us!
About the Teacher
Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.
In 2006, Elonne moved to Asia, where she met her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, O.P. Tiwari, and Richard Freeman.
As Elonne's understanding of the practice grows, she feels more and more like a beginner, and she is excited to continue this journey. She feels blessed by the opportunity to teach at Samahita Retreat, and she is extremely grateful for the chance to help others while she continues her own studies. For more see her full bio.

Giancarlo, UK 2011
The best place to detox-especially if you have not done it before because everything is well organized and Claudia is a star supporter. You feel very well taken care of.
Jessica, Norway 2010
This program was ideal for my first detox experience. The entire staff was extremely friendly and creating a warm and welcoming environment. I was never too full - always given lots of juices to fuel my body. It was very informative, as I learned so much about proper detoxification. Better than I expected, plus I feel great!
Amanda, USA 2010
Samahita Wellness allowed me to relax while feeling incredibly taken care of. The detox program was not only cleansing, but informative. I leave here with a better understanding of a well balanced life. Losing 7lbs was the cherry on the cake, not that I eat cake.
David, USA 2011
Samahita Wellness is an excellent place to be for detox and relaxation. I felt very well taken care of and all the experience was very nourishing. I will definitely be back for more!!
