Yoga: The Joy of Practice
September 15 - 22, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.
Please join us!

Testimonials
I'm very pleased that I did this and the service that I got, it was the best thing I have given myself for a long time!
Aafke, Holland 2010
Samahita Retreat is very peaceful, tranquil and beautiful. From the sounds of the birds, to the butterflies flapping their wings. To the plants that are so healthy and green. The calming sunsets and the clear water beach, smiling faces, gentle natured, beautiful people.
What an amazing place.

I really can't think of anything negative to say about the YogaDetox program! It has been such a positive experience and I learned so much valuable information about how to take care of myself, mind, body and spirit.

This is a note to say how much I continue to enjoy the benefits of your patient, thorough instruction and
wonderful friendly approach to yoga. I have since been keeping up with classes in D.C. and N.Y. as much as possible.
While the lack of consistency in teaching and approach to postures has at times frustrated my progress,
I always find fulfillment when I remember that "pinch" you taught us, or the time that I did the squat
or headstand in your class, and have remained continually motivated in my pursuit of the practice.
Carolyn, USA 2006
Thank you so much for your warm hospitality and help & support to our family
during our stay in March. It was great escape to a beautiful place as well
as a healing time for myself.
My son faced a true nature there, dining with birds, sleeping with nice
breeze, walking in the calm beach and listening the sound of wave all the
time. And he has grown so much over there, I think it's all about being in
such a peaceful/clean place. All your staffs were fantastic, I had no issue
with making baby's food. They gave me a great confidence that we can go back
there anytime.
My yoga practice, particularly Asana practice, I started to set up a time
and managed to make it in daily bases!
What an amazing change!
I'm so glad that I can do this again. Also the end of practice, I feel so
much better and lighter, something I've been longing for.
All great.
Many thanks to all of you and so much looking forward to going back soon.
Special thanks to Paul and Jutima!
