Yoga: The Joy of Practice
September 15 - 22, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.
Please join us!
About the Teacher
Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.
In 2006, Elonne moved to Asia, where she met her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, O.P. Tiwari, and Richard Freeman.
As Elonne's understanding of the practice grows, she feels more and more like a beginner, and she is excited to continue this journey. She feels blessed by the opportunity to teach at Samahita Retreat, and she is extremely grateful for the chance to help others while she continues her own studies. For more see her full bio.

A good balance of constant next event, yet still time to enjoy the atmosphere and facilities in between, plus very flexible and accomodating staff. Guest info pack was very helpful and constantly refferred back to it. Overall very satisfied, I feel great and most of all feel alot more knowledgable about my body. Loved the yoga teaching and look forward to continuing back home and hopefully someday return to your retreat.

I sort of surrendered to Claudia and her team to take care of me during the program, and they did an excellent job. I lost 2.5 kg but felt so much better, healthier and my steps are lighter. The funny thing is, I didn't feel hungry during the program. Yoga classes were great and I enjoyed walking on the beach too. The massages where the best I have ever experienced.

Claudia Jones has built a wonderful team of caring practitioners. Being away from the busy Samui areas, Samahita Wellness really gives you an opportunity to completely refresh your senses. Take the Reiki course if you can - Fantastic!
