Yoga: The Joy of Practice
September 15 - 22, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.

Testimonials
Claudia is extremely dedicated and knows her stuff. She comes across with a desire to share and not tell you how to live. A very good ability! A very kind and supportive character. I have gained a lot of new knowledge.

I am doing really well, I am continuing the practice of Ashtanga Yoga really seriously. I am doing my
own practice from my house, I love it, and I have to say I think you would be proud of your student! Since last
week I am trying Ashtanga's classes in different Studios in Montreal. I found one that I like so I am
starting there next week. Thank you for introducing me to Ashtanga Yoga so well that I never want to stop it!
It is changing my life it is so rewarding for me, more than I could ever imagine!

My stay and detox & yoga retreat at Samahita was exactly what I needed in order to reset my thoughts, re-assess my lifestyle and to have some space to breathe just for myself. I would highly recommend the program to anyone in need of a reset. A great bonus that it is located in paradise!

After a very difficult time of depression I managed to find inner serenity and a more relaxed state of mind again, a certain detachment of my problems and a new appreciation for the beauty of life. Anxiety and emotional pain began to dissolve with the wonderful combination of Detox, Massage treatments, Yoga and Meditation. The team is beautiful. Thank you.

Many, many thanks for a beautiful experience at Samahita Yoga Thailand! Your warmth and hospitality turned a
nice vacation into a wonderful experience. I can not express the gratitude I feel for the guidance you
provided, Paul, in helping me to regain a practice I felt I had lost in my car accident. Thank you for your teaching, and for encouraging my progression.
