Respects and Pranams

Our respects and pranams to our teachers and inspirations. The Ashtanga Yoga Shala and its teachings within is dedicated to this great source of yogic wealth.

Om Namah Sivaya

Guruji (Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois) and Sharath

The Master and grandson, daily teaching and passing on the method of ashtanga. Thank you for teaching us and blessing us to teach. Thanks to Manju Jois for getting us started.

.

Sri. O. P. Tiwari

Wealth of knowledge, master of pranayama and an accomplished yogi. Thank you for your teachings and guidance.

Ammachi

The Divine Mother. We feel your blessings and support without which none of this would be possible.

Great inspirations that have opened up the yoga path and taught us so much, from a far true, but so very effectively.

Swami Sivananda
Paramahansa Yogananda
Swami Vivekananda
Ramakrishna Paramahansa

There have been many yogi masters and influences but these are the direct ones. Sivananda opened up the path of yoga to us, Yogananda elevated it, Vivekananda intensified it, Ramakrishna transformed it. Ammachi's mother love is constantly felt in all activities. Direct teaching came upon meeting Tiwariji, moving to another level of practice and learning, and intensive practice under the Ashtangi Masters Guruji and Sharath. At this point the idea of a practice and how to do and live yoga became clear. A method was given. There were many other teachers and influences along the way, and continue to be, yet these Masters above are the landmarks and lighthouses for us and our teaching.
