Yoga Retreat

Taking Our Practice To The Next Level

June 11 - 18, 2011

with Govinda Kai

About the Retreat

In this weeklong retreat with Govinda Kai, we will focus on dynamic discussion and reflection on the deeper meaning of yoga practice. We will challenge ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally to take our practice to the next level in an atmosphere that is both focused and full of joy and humor. This will be done through asana practice, lectures and lively discussions and structured activities, all designed to deepen experience of our lives and practice.

This course is open to all levels of students.

About the Teacher

Yoga retreat teacher, Govinda Kai

Govinda Kai is a deeply passionate student of Yoga and spiritual life and has been for most of his life. His quest for truth and purity in the more essential parts of his self and life has taken him all over the world. He has been supremely blessed by the guidance of some of the most extraordinary and powerful teachers of this age including Morihei Ueshiba (the founder of Aikido, who he met as a child of 6), Swami Muktananda (the founder of the Siddha Yoga movement and a self-realized master of yoga, who he met at age 19), Sogyal Rimpoche (the author of the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying and a highly recognized master of Tibetan Buddhism, who he met when he was 21 and the Rimpoche was 25 having just escaped the Chinese occupation in Tibet) and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (student of Krishnamacharya and the recognized master of modern Ashtanga Yoga, who he met at age 35 and has studied with every year for 2-4 months in Mysore, India from 1995 through to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois' death last year.

"Every time I teach, I attempt to bring the essence of all these great teachers to each and every moment. With respect and joy, I look forward to meeting you and working with you."
