About Lana

Yoga has changed my life and continues to help me grow as a person
and a teacher. I was born in Russia, raised in Finland. After graduating
from university in Jyvaskyla Finland in 2001 life brought me to South
Korea Seoul. The path of yoga for me started there. I began with
Hatha and Raja Yoga which continued for a few years. After the
first class I realized that this system can really help
me to transform my
innerself. I always felt drawn towards spirituality and
I felt strongly that by changing my inner world I can be of
more benefit to others. In 2003 I completed a formal training
in Raja yoga. Being firm in the knowledge that yoga was my
path I wanted to explore deeper the science of yoga. My friends
and fellow students encouraged me to pursue teaching. At that
point I found Yoga Thailand and applied for the Centered Yoga
Training program. In 2004 through this program I became grounded
in the tradition of Ashtanga Yoga. Paul’s sincere teachings
and thorough, extensive knowledge inspired me to stay on
that challenging path and cultivate physical, mental and spiritual
health. My time at Yoga Thailand, studying with Paul and O.P. Tiwari
(Tiwariji) allowed me to feel the connection with my inner self.
Having these teachers to guide me along the way has given me a
firm foundation in the practices of yoga (including pranayama,
philosophy and meditation). I felt blessed to be able to study
here at Yoga Thailand, to receive genuine teachings which are based
on tradition. Paul has guided me on my path since 2004, I have
returned to the center several times to study with him and Sri
Om Prakash Tiwari whose knowledge has a deep impact on my path.
I am truly blessed to have an opportunity to assist and be a part
of the Yoga Thailand team.

After leaving
Korea last year in July 2006 I traveled to Vienna where I taught
for three months. I then traveled to India as many aspiring yogis
and yoginis do. From the first day practicing n the shala in
Mysore I felt the juice. I know I am going to return to study
with Guruji Patthabi Jois and his grandson Sharath. I
offer my dedication in practice in sincerely teaching here.
